Episode Summary
Sophia, my guest this week on the podcast, is a senior at BCIS in Beijing. At the time of recording, she was wrapping up her sophomore year and we discussed her personal project for MYP. Sophia is passionate about wellness and feels that students don’t always have access to the information and services they need to support their physical and mental health. She recognized this authentic community need and partnered with a migrant children’s school in Beijing to develop a workshop for young students there. Join us as we celebrate the successes of this project and how a further connection with Peking University and an opportunity at her own school might lead to greater impact as this work continues.
Discover a transformative podcast on education and learning from a student perspective and student voice, exploring media, media literacy, and media production to inspire citizens in schools through a media lab focused on 21st-century learning, empathy to impact, Global citizenship, collaboration, systems thinking, service learning, PBL, CAS, MYP, PYP, DP, Service as Action, futures thinking, project-based learning, sustainability, well-being, harmony with nature, community engagement, experiential learning, and the role of teachers and teaching in fostering well-being and a better future.
