Interviewing Local Heroes at HKIS
Download MP3On this episode we are off to Hong Kong to catch up with a couple of 8th grade podcasters. Chloe and Evelyn are first time podcasters and did an outstanding job telling the story of an unsung hero in their community through this new medium. We discuss their experiences honing their interview skills, drawing on pre-existing tools from narrative writing, and utilizing active listening to successfully amplify the stories of people in their community who often go unnoticed, and are quietly having an impact in their daily lives. What stories might we uncover in our own communities if we take time to stop, engage and actively listen?
