Storytelling for Social Justice at Irondale High School
Download MP3On this episode I catch up with three seniors, Aisha, Amina, & Emilio, at Irondale High School in Minnesota to talk about a project they are doing in an elective class called Reading & Writing For Social Justice. In this project they were tasked with finding someone in the community, capturing their stories through interviews, writing a transcript and turning that transcript into a first person narrative. Listen to how they used the power of active listening and storytelling to become more aware and amplify underrepresented stories to build empathy in their community.
